With the continued closure of services in small communities by large national companies such as chartered banks, Sears and gas stations, people are looking for a central point in their community where they can fill their immediate needs without traveling long distances. It has been, and will continue to be, left up to the corner convenience store to fill in this expanding gap in services. Whether consumers are looking for a can of soup, a greeting card, fast food or cash, they want to find it all quickly and conveniently. The future of convenience stores will be to provide those quick snacks, a container of milk, and the "Plus" - the other convenience services busy consumers are looking for.
